Muhammad Shafiullah
Senior Reporter, The Daily Ajker Patrika
Muhammad Shafiullah is a Bangladeshi journalist, writer, and researcher currently working as a Senior Reporter at The Daily Ajker Patrika, one of the prominent national dailies in Bangladesh, where he has been covering the health beat since October 2024.
Before joining The Daily Ajker Patrika, he served as a Staff Reporter at Daily Bonik Barta from October 2020, leading a dedicated health page and writing op-eds on various public-health issues. He also worked at Ekushey Television (ETV) from May 2019, covering health, environment, crime, and education at the national level. Shafiullah began his journalism career in 2013 as the Comilla University correspondent for The Daily Ittefaq and has since contributed to major media outlets including NTV and New Age, producing features and opinion pieces across diverse topics.
He has also contributed to Prothom Alo, Janakantha, Jugantor, and Sokaler Khabor. He was a founding member of the Comilla University Journalist Association (CoUJA) and served as Finance Secretary (2014-2015), General Secretary (2016), and President (2017).
He is the author of July Gono Obbutthan: Morodeho Gononar Koyekti Din (Oitijjhya Publication, 2026), based on investigative reporting during the 2024 July Uprising in Bangladesh, and Asmat Alir Anashan (2017), a short-story collection exploring social inequality, relationships, poverty, and crime.
Shafiullah holds BSS and MSS degrees in Anthropology from Comilla University and an LL.B. from the National University of Bangladesh.
